A giant display of illuminated playing cards was among dozens of dazzling installations on show to kickstart one of the country's biggest arts events.

Inside Leeds Art Gallery, interactive installation Light Organ filled a room with 40 8ft-tall light pipes, each changing colour as they reacted to sounds.
