It is going to get very hot in Leeds
A health warning has been issued by the Met Office ahead of a heatwave next week that could see temperatures skyrocket towards the 30C mark.
While the highest temperatures are expected in the southern regions of England, the whole of the country - Leeds included - is set to feel the heat. The Met Office has issued an amber health alert for the South East and London between Monday and Friday and a yellow alert for the rest of the country, which indicates a 60% or above risk for temperatures of 30C being reached on at least two consecutive days and the intervening night.
"The highest confidence is for southeastern and eastern areas where temperatures are expected to reach the low 30s. There is an increased confidence for thresholds to be reached across much of the Midlands, and perhaps eastern parts of southwest England and southern parts of the northwest England and Yorkshire and Humber regions."
