Macdonald returned to Australia two months ago.
Leeds Rhinos have confirmed that they have mutually agreed to part ways with Nene Macdonald with immediate effect. The 29-year-old returned to Australia a couple of months ago on compassionate leave, with his future a mystery for the last several weeks.
However, Rugby League Live understands Macdonald could be returning to the U.K a lot sooner than the Rhinos think, with Salford Red Devils making an ambitious move for the outside back. Salford face losing star half-back Brodie Croft to Leeds after the West Yorkshire tabled a huge six-figure offer, with Macdonald set for a potential move back to Super League as a free agent.
