Sonny Perkins has joined League One side Oxford United on loan until the end of the season
Leeds United have allowed promising young forward Sonny Perkins to join Oxford United on loan until the end of the campaign. Perkins has been involved in Daniel Farke’s first-team this season and made an appearance off the bench on the opening day of the season against Cardiff City.
The League One club loaned Lewis Bate from Leeds last season and helped him to take the next step in his career and United will hope Perkins can follow a similar path at the Kassam Stadium. Perkins is highly thought of in West Yorkshire and the hope will be that he returns from his loan with Oxford as an improved and more-rounded player.
Oxford are currently fourth in League One, having won three of their opening four league games under Liam Manning this season. The U’s already have Mark Harris, Billy Bodin, Max Woltman, Ruben Rodrigues and Marcus Browne at their disposal in attacking areas, while Sam Baldock is registered to the club, too, ensuring Perkins faces plenty of competition for a place in their side.
