Leeds United loaned out Luke Ayling to Championship rivals Middlesbrough during the January transfer window and the experienced defender has performed well in recent weeks
Luke Ayling has played a major part in Middlesbrough's revival. The defender, on loan from Leeds United until the end of the season, put in another eye-catching performance in the right wing back position for Boro as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 win at Birmingham City last night.
Johns wrote: "Another assist for Ayling making it three in three as he continues to enjoy the wing-back role. Boro needed him to be resolute defensively, but he also got forward and pressed high up with Boro's attack at times too in a lively display."Elsewhere, midfielder Lewis Bate featured for MK Dons as they slumped to a 1-0 loss at Grimsby Town yesterday. Defeat leaves the Dons in fifth position, two points shy of the automatic promotion spots with eight matches remaining.
"We now need the three points at the weekend, and then we have to go and beat the Stockports and Mansfields to take the points off them."
