OUCH! ⚾️Beloved New York baseball radio announcer John Sterling was struck in the face by a flying foul ball while calling a Yankees game over the weekend yet powered onward and finished out his broadcast.
The Yankees were attempting to close out the game at the time and were eventually victorious with a 3-1 win.showing Sterling being struck by the ball, in which the MLB team calls the announcer "Legend."
OW!" Sterling exclaims in response to being hit. "Ow... ow... It really hit me! I didn't know it was coming back that far!" Y'know, that foul ball actually hit me, it kinda glanced off my forehead," Sterling says before joking "So I took one for the team." Sterling was back in the booth on Sunday night for another Yankees/Red Sox game. His broadcast partner Suzyn WaldmanThe Red Sox player had also written a cheeky message to Sterling on the ball:
