A letter writer wonders about the nature of former Spurs player Josh Primo’s trauma and the response of the Spurs organization.Former Spurs guard Josh Primo obviously has a problem. He needs help.
His lawyer, William J. Briggs II, claims Primo, 19, is a victim of trauma and says his client denies charges that he exposed himself to a 40-year-old, Spurs-appointed, female sports psychologist. In any professional sport, a physical ailment — say, an Achilles rupture — would be treated with no questions asked. But the way Primo’s case is being handled shows how difficult it is for a nonphysical ailment to be recognized and treated.Eduardo Alazraqui, El PasoI suggest that a bipartisan oversight committee be formed to oversee every ballot-counting station. The committee would be empowered to solve objections before the results are released.Speak now or forever hold your peace.
I cannot support what our Republican leaders are doing in Austin. Elected officials have found a home by making us believe they are serving us by protecting a beloved memory of a good life once held in America. I cannot remember the last time I agreed with an issue proposed or supported by that triumvirate of Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Attorney General Ken Paxton.We all need to learn when to get out of the way. Our grandchildren will remake this country into what they think it should be. From what I have seen, I think they will do a good job.
