One reader asks people to appreciate embattled election clerks; another asks for people to be informed when voting.Every Texan should be appalled by the death of more than 200 in Iran by the hands of the “morality police.” It’s a glaring example of the inevitable outcome of merging church and state.
If we re-elect them, they will be emboldened to rain down ever more restrictions on our freedoms, and Texas will look more and more like Iran with every new prohibition.Whenever an election year came up, I had my students cast a quick vote for the candidates and discuss some of the important issues. The students were informed through their own work without me, the teacher, telling them how to think.
But one time when we opened at 7 a.m. the line was down to the parking lot, and it stayed that way until 8:30 p.m. We had no one to stop the line at 7 p.m., so voters had to wait in that long line for over an hour.
