OPINION: Scott Morrison, Anthony Albanese, federal election, wage rise, inflation, tax cut, Ukraine, China
Anthony Albanese has declared Labor’s support for a 5.1 per cent increase to the minimum wage to bring it more in line with inflation and the CPI .
He has accused Anthony Albanese of being an “economic vandal”. Albanese, he says, is “an economic loose unit, who opens his head and spills its contents onto the table”.Remarks suggestive of an individual who has “completely lost the plot”. An alarming circumstance which most Australians should find discomforting in an individual again seeking to be our prime minister. In recent days, major party leaders have offered opposing views on the desirability of raising the minimum wage.
Such larger houses obviously use more of those inputs in short supply, driving up house prices. So, inequality clearly is one cause of inflation, and the increase in remuneration of chief executive officers over the past year will likely have given that a further boost. And, above all, he explained – and showed through truthful images – why “never again” cannot be an empty promise.
And he sullied the memory of the countless actual victims of World War II by associating their sacrifice with his justification for the annihilation of Ukrainians that he, through cowardice, continues to conceal. Mercifully, history has shown that it does not suffer slights to its integrity lightly – which is, alas, poor consolation for those who are living through it now.Scott Morrison continually tells us we have a strong economy, and it is thanks to him .
