East Bay Times Letters to the Editor for June 7, 2022
In the East Bay Times article , former Supervisor Scott Haggerty was quoted as saying that his “career passion” is to see Valley Link curb the “mind-numbing traffic jams on Interstate 580”.
Valley Link is projected to carry 32,000 riders a day by 2040. With freeway traffic demand destined to at least double, the chances of Valley Link reducing I-580 congestion are nil.At the Walnut Creek Art & Wine Fest this weekend, I ran across. Their purpose is to keep a life-care community, Diablo Glen, from creating multi-tier housing for local seniors. They prefer to keep it a space that has trees and land with the goal of someday, maybe, having a park there.
I’ve lived here since 1980 and have never seen anyone use that space. Let seniors migrate where they can age in place and free up their housing for new residents.Golden State Warriors fans have every right to be proud of the team’s impressive season thus far, which has led them to the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight years. Beyond this, there are a number of admirable individuals on the roster and coaching staff. I wish them well.
