Stewart recently questioned whether Hamilton still had the ‘hunger’ to win a record eighth world championship and claimed he needs to address some ‘serious problems’ moving forward.
‘During this time, Lewis only had one real competitor: his respective team-mate. Except for 2016, he always emerged victorious from the duel. ‘Lewis no longer has that hunger. Because of that – and because the car is no longer quite as powerful – he has serious problems.’Admittedly, it has been a difficult last few years for Hamilton who was controversially pipped to the 2021 title by, before enduring the first winless season of his career in 2022, thanks in part to an underperforming Mercedes car.
