'One rule for the woke, one rule for everyone else': Murray | Sky News Australia'One rule for the woke, one rule for everyone else': Murray | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Paul Murrays says the Victorian authorities have been practicing hypocrisy in the way they treated the Black Lives Matter protests as opposed to their treatment of potential anti-lockdown protests. \n\nA Victorian woman on Wednesday was arrested in front of her children on charges of ‘incitement’ after allegedly organising an anti-lockdown protest.\n\nAssistant commissioner Luke Cornelius said on Thursday he supported the action of the police who arrested the woman, adding people who were planning to protest Daniel Andrews were “selfish”.\n\n“Be assured, we’ll be ready for you, we’ll be ready for you not only in the city, but when you leave home and hop on public transport or use other means to get to the city,” Mr Cornelius said. \n\nMr Murray said the police had a “completely different attitude” to the Black Lives Matter protests. \n\nBlack lives matter activists posted their intent to protest on Facebook and 46,000 people registered interest, they even took press conferences, yet no one was arrested. \n\nNot only did the Victoria police not arrests the BLM protestors, they expressed their intention to support the community by “giving voice to their concerns and their protest'.\n\n“Both protests are pointless because they shouldn’t be happening during a pandemic,” Mr Murray said.\n \n“One rule for them, one rule for everyone else – and the only difference: wokeness.”\n\nImage: News Corp Australia

Labor in QLD is a ‘one-trick pony’ | Sky News AustraliaLabor in QLD is a ‘one-trick pony’ | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Peter Gleeson says Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is quickly becoming “one of the most unpopular women in the country” as she doggedly stands by her state’s tough border closures. \n\nHe said while her “lack of leadership on COVID-19” was evident to the rest of Australia, it was still up in the air as to whether she would be 'punished' at the October 31 election. \n\n“Clearly, Labor has polling suggesting that her hard border stance, which is strangling the economy and disadvantaging thousands of people on the border, is an electoral plus,” Mr Gleeson said. \n\n“Many will vote for Labor on the basis that it kept Queensland ostensibly safe during the greatest health crisis of our generation.”\n\n“Labor in Queensland, it’s a one-trick pony and it’s only hope is COVID.\n\n“Three months ago, I said during war and pandemic, state laws should be superceded by a Commonwealth legislative instrument.\n\n“It is the only way to get the country back on track; self-serving premiers and territory leaders with one eye on the ballot box and another on the economy is not in the country’s best interests.”\n\nImage: News Corp Australia
