The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments today in three cases that address whether gay and transgender workers are protected from employment discrimination under the 1964 Civil Rights Act
Monday that it will freeze pension plans for 20,000 employees with salaried benefits in an effort to pay off company debt. The freeze won’t take effect until 2021, and won’t affect “retirees already collecting pension benefits or employees with production benefits,” the statement said. GE will also offer buyouts to 100,000 eligible employees who have not started their payment plans.
