Professional swimmer and women’s sports advocate Paula Scanlan has praised the decision to not allow Lia Thomas to compete in the women’s comp at the Paris Olympic Games, questioning whether her fellow teammates would receive an apology for having to share a changeroom with the swimmer.

World Aquatics commended the ruling preventing Ms Thomas from competing in the women’s comp, hailing it as"a major step forward in our efforts to protect women's sport."
When the news broke of Ms Thomas’ exclusion from the comp, Ms Scanlan said: “Good. This shouldn’t have even been a case. Men don’t belong in any women’s sports.”
