The Hoops defender has senses a change in the atmosphere in recent weeks as he gets braced for the big one this weekend
Liam Scales insists the power has been turned back on at Parkhead – and the energised support can turbo charge the Hoops in Saturday’s Old Firm showdown.
Celts would leave the Light Blues needing snookers with a win and the Irish ace reckons his side already has a head start with the punters on board. Scales said: “Is it an advantage? One hundred percent. I think there was a spell in midseason when we struggled to create a lot of changes at home and it was definitely a bit nervous. We could feel it in the atmosphere as well.
“You can definitely feed off the atmosphere. The energy dictates how players are going to play. You know if you do the right things they will be right there with you. It’s been great. There have been times this season I’ve really felt that energy. There’s been some tackles that have felt like scoring goals! You come away feeling really good. It just gives you that buzz and belief to keep going.”
Scales insisted his gaffer has been a godsend on keeping a lid on the squad at the business end of term. And he insisted the Celtic dressing room is packed full of characters who won’t shirk when the heat is on.
