Liberal ministers, MPs voice concern over bitter internal feud | Rabe9 & AlexSmithSMH

Ministers and backbenchers are increasingly frustrated by the protracted public feud between Transport Minister David Elliott and Treasurer Matt Kean, warning the spat is another unwanted damaging distraction for the pressured government.

Industrial Relations Minister Damien Tudehope provided an update to cabinet on Monday about the industrial dispute and stressed that any delays to a resolution had nothing to do with Kean. Elliott was absent from the meeting because he was unwell. “We’ve got ministers fighting each other,” he said. “The union can’t do anything else except locking ourselves into a position where we need to have a deed signed by the premier.”Liberal sources are furious that the internal stoush escalated when the government’s focus should be on Labor and bullying accusations against Walt Secord, who quit the shadow ministry on Monday.
