A Liberal upper house MP has apologised for reneging on a deal with a colleague ahead of a vote on a bill seeking to reform South Australia's abortion laws, saying she felt pressured by an 'external visitor' on the night.

The bill, which would have required women seeking an abortion after 27 weeks and six days to deliver babies alive, was ultimately defeated 10 votes to 9.Ms Lee told parliament on Tuesday she thought it was appropriate she explained what occurred on the night.“The encounter with this external visitor made me feel very vulnerable on the night, I wasn't thinking clearly, and I was put in a compromising situation.
