Liberal MP calls for inquiry into wider issues around Morrison ministries | katinacurtis
Liberal MP Bridget Archer says Scott Morrison needs to consider his position in parliament and has backed a wider inquiry that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is contemplating into his predecessor’s secret multiple ministerial portfolios.
Archer, the Liberal member for Bass in Tasmania, says there should be a broader examination of how and why this happened and the secrecy around it, and any inquiry should encompass the role of Governor-General David Hurley and the public service. Albanese said he would be briefed on the solicitor-general’s advice on Monday afternoon and the matter would then be discussed by cabinet on Tuesday.Advertisement
Cabinet is expected to discuss the question of an inquiry into the matter and separately, Speaker Milton Dick is considering a, which can examine whether he misled parliament or if his actions were in contempt.
