Liberal MP Tim Wilson has warned that independents will try to “sneak Labor into government” as he faces a serious challenge from Climate 200-backed candidate Zoe Daniel.

Mr Wilson had fiery words for his Climate 200-backed rival as he campaigned outside a booth in Brighton on the first day of early voting.

“If they had any integrity, they’d tell us who they’re going to back to form government, but they won’t.” Mr Wilson said his opponent’s focus on change clearly involved the changing of government, and again called on Ms Daniel to reveal which party she would back in a hung parliament. "If you can vote on election day, absolutely that's what you should be doing but if you can't, early voting's available for you now," AEC spokesperson Evan Ekin-Smyth told Sky News Australia's Laura Jayes on Monday.
