Two Liberal backbenchers have signalled their support for discussion on the government's potential superannuation changes, putting them at odds with other members in the Coalition.

Treasurer Jim Chalmers on Sunday flagged the prospect of putting a cap on Australians' super funds was being discussed, as well as removing tax concessions on large super balances.

However Victorian Liberal MP Russell Broadbent said he doesn’t care about the change in heart by the government.“I don’t care, I want the best policy outcome from government. It’s one of the many areas of policy that need addressing.” “You have to do two things. You have to get the permission of the Australian people, and then you have to argue as to why you are making these changes.

Overnight Tasmanian Liberal MP Bridget Archer also signalled the need for a discussion, telling The Guardian: “I don’t think we should shy away from having a conversation”.

Mr Limbrick said he is supportive of any way to minimise the harm of drugs. “I actually think it will save taxpayers money,” he told Sky News host Cory Bernardi. “Just think about the cost in one single case of acquired brain injury from drug overdose … depending on the severity it could be a lifetime of care and a lifetime of welfare for the unfortunate person that was injured. “So I don’t think this is going to be a big expense either.”
