Two senior figures have acknowledged the link between the global environmental crisis and the state's intense bushfire season this year which has left six people dead.

"We cannot deny that these fires have been going on for weeks and we need to address the causes of them," he said. Federal Minister for Environment Sussan Ley agreed with Mr Kean's comments on ABC Radio Sydney this morning.
