Underwear as outerwear is huge for Spring2020:
Author:Dara PrantUpdated:Sep 25, 2019Original:Sep 25, 2019Underwear as outerwear is not a new concept; models and members of the Kardashian family have been wearing bras as tops since the dawn of Instagram. But only now, are designers leaning into this idea with gusto.
We saw more exposed intimates in New York at Dion Lee, where the Australian designer showed sculpted bras, harnesses and garter waist belts paired with flesh-toned tops and fluid pants. And the negligee references continued in London with Charlotte Knowles's warm-weather range, which spotlighted '90s-inspired push-up balconettes.
Gucci also looked to its kinky past for its latest line; instead of his expected covered-up quirk, Alessandro Michele pulled a Tom Ford and served sexed-up ensembles: Think lace-inset slip dresses with high slits and panty-revealing chiffon skirts.
