One coffee shop in the 5th Street Arcades is replacing another ☕
CLEVELAND, Ohio – One coffee shop in the 5th Street Arcades is replacing another: Lionheart Coffee is going into the former StoneFruit Coffee space.
Lionheart Coffee is set to take over operations at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, with all the previous staff and management, the company said in a press release. Julie Loncar will remain as general manager. Lionheart will continue to serve organic beans. StoneFruit organic coffee will anchor a streamlined coffee and tea menu, the company said. Luna Bakery will continue to supply bakery items. Some new additions - including an expanded cold brew menu - will be offered. And all lattes will be topped with the signature heart-shaped design. The coffee shop is in the same building as the upcoming Geraci’s Slice Shop, said Jason Beudert, a partner in both the pizza place and coffee shop.
StoneFruit, a Youngstown coffee business, opened in Cleveland in 2021, taking over the former Pour Coffee space downtown. StoneFruit owner Josh Langenheim updated the location with bar tops, tables and seats, and included a Cleveland skyline mural. Some interior décor tweaks will be made to the space, Beudert said.
“Being a frequent customer at StoneFruit, we loved the atmosphere and the staff is incredible,” Beudert said in a release. “It is a gem in the Gateway District. Plus, the coffee is killer. It bummed us out to hear the news that StoneFruit Coffee had decided to close, in particular for the staff. We decided to connect with the ownership group at StoneFruit and the landlord and now Lionheart Coffee is born.
