Paul McStay, Tom Boyd, George McCluskey and John Fallon, were among 500 golfers worldwide; from New Zealand, to Canada and here in Glasgow.

Celtic F.C Lisbon Lion, John Fallon, alongside other Hoops legends; Paul McStay, Tom Boyd and George McCluskey were among 500 golfers worldwide who raised over £30,000 to give Glasgow youngsters a 'full football match-day experience'.

Growing from just a handful of seats initially, the Kano Foundation now offers over 150 kids’ tickets per home match. The charity works with individual families and clubs, ranging from youth football groups to community projects providing diversionary activities aimed at preventing young people getting involved in anti-social behaviour.Former midfielder, Paul McStay, played at Eastlakes Golf Club in Sydney, Australia.

Lisbon Lion, John Fallon, was with the Hoops from 1959 till 1971. The Cambuslang-born goalkeeper was part of the world-renowned squad that won the European Cup in 1967. He told Glasgow Live: “Sport is something that should be accessible to all; that first glimpse of the stadium, seeing your favourite players step out, watching a goal being scored. But with the cost-of-living crisis and the price of attending a match rising, that experience is now out of reach for many families.

“Thank you to everyone who organised or took part in the day. They’ve all done their bit for keeping football free for kids.”
