There are certain lesser known heart attack warning signs the NHS are hoping to raise awareness of with a new campaign to save lives.
There are certain little-known symptoms that may be early warning signs of a heart attack, according to the NHS.
According to experts, the chances of surviving a heart attack is far higher if medical care is sought early. Seven in 10 sufferers survive a heart attack, with the number increase to nine in 10 if a person is treated in hospital in the early stages of an attack. The new NHS campaign hopes to teach people about the common early signs, often dismissed or ignored by sufferers, in a bid to save more lives.
To increase awareness, a new NHS advert will urge people to call 999 as soon as they experience any signs of a heart attack including: "Every moment that passes during a heart attack increases heart muscle damage and nearly all of the damage takes place within the first few hours, so if you experience symptoms such as a sensation of squeezing or tightness across the chest alongside sweating, nausea, or a sense of unease, please call 999 so you have the best chance of a full recovery."
