The Little League World Series is down to its championship game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. on ABC, live from Williamsport, Pa.
El Segundo is making its first appearance in the Little League World Series championship and is representing California, which last made it this far in 2013. This year’s California team beat Texas, 6-1, in Saturday’s semifinals after a big game from 12-year-old Louis Lappe. He drove in two runs and struck out 10 in 5 1/3 innings.Curacao topped Taiwan, 2-0, in their semifinal to return after last year’s 13-3 loss to Hawaii in the championship.
Earlier this week, Taiwan beat Curacao, 9-1, and had outscored its previous three opponents by a 25-1 margin entering the semifinals.
