David Littleproud said he respected Peter Dutton's view the jobs summit is a 'stunt', as the Nationals leader outlined why his party believed they had to take part despite its Coalition partner opting not to.
Mr Littleproud on Saturday told reporters his party had"reinforced the fact that we've been pragmatic about accepting an invitation to the jobs summit", which will be held on September 1-2.

Picture: NCA NewsWire / Gary Ramage Mr Littleproud was given a personal invitation to the summit from Mr Chalmers after the Treasurer said he became aware the Nationals leader"was interested in coming".
The Nationals will be putting forward what they have dubbed"pragmatic solutions" to benefit regional and rural Australia.
