NSW Health officials are working to locate people who may have come into contact with a Sydney taxi driver who is believed to have worked for eight days while infectious, while Melbournians wake with renewed optimism after a drop in new cases.
, with the death of a man in his 70s raising the state’s death toll to 55.
Health authorities are trying to trace the contacts of that driver, who worked for eight days while infectious and visited several locations in Sydney and the NSW South Coast.“This taxi driver happens to have picked up coronavirus at the Liverpool Hospital and we understand he drove for 8 to 10 days while infectious [and] travelled around Western Sydney and south-western Sydney,” she said.
