At least 6,546 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks, including 2,704 children, as Israel continues air strikes across besieged Gaza on the 20th day of conflict.
Two draft resolutions separately proposed by the US and Russia on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict failed to pass in the UN Security Council.
US envoy to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said the US is"deeply disappointed" that Russia and China vetoed the resolution. The call was made by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus following his discussions with the Israeli non-governmental organisation the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, which represents families of those abducted, according to a statement released by the organisation.
