We have got a serious battle on our hands at the MCG tonight.
That was mighty impressive from Collingwood. The intensity and physicality around the ball for a minute looked like it was about to overwhelm GWS, and those two early goals set the table for an onslaught. But the Giants held their ground. They haven't quite got to throwing any real punches of their own yet, but they have seen off a serious challenge and remained right in the thick of the game.
There were signs late in that quarter that the GWS running game is ready to break free once the heat dies down a little, so the threat remains looming for the Pies.
