After they being walloped 7-0 last June, a full-strength Matildas are back to seek revenge against a Spanish side embroiled in off-field chaos.
Following Spain's disappointing quarter-final exit from the 2022 Women's Euros, 15 senior players contacted the federation's president to express their concerns over head coach, Jorge Vilda
Vilda, the former boss of the U-17 and U-19 teams, is also the women's technical director at the federationThere have been no allegations of illegal or inappropriate behaviour, but many players believe Vilda has created a toxic environment in camp, resulting in some players often leaving training in tears
But Vilda refuses to step down, and has since been strongly backed by the federation that installed him
