Thousands of Australians are now gathering across major towns and cities to show their support of Black Lives Matter and the Indigenous community. 9News
Public transport services and roads in Melbourne's CBD including Spring Street, Bourke Street and Collins Street are currently impacted by a planned protest on the steps of Parliament.
Trams on Bourke Street, Swanston Street, Collins Street and Flinders Street are diverting or operating in shortened sections. No City Circle trams will operate until after 5pm. Motorists are currently unable to access Spring and Bourke Streets and Spring and Collins Street.There are delays in surrounding streets in the CBD.
Drivers and passengers are asked to avoid the area if they can, follow the direction of emergency services and allow extra travel time. The Department of Transport and public transport operators will monitor the protest in real time and make changes to public transport services and road closures as required.
