Brazil takes on South Korea in the final round-of-16 at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, after Dominik Livakovic saves three Japanese penalties to send Croatia into the quarterfinals. Follow the match action live and catch up on everything else from the tournament in our blog.

Croatia, finalists from the last World Cup in Russia, have made it through to the quarterfinals by the barest of margins.

Tied 1-1 with Japan at the end of regulation and after extra time, the round-of-16 match went to penalties, but from there it was all pain for Japan. Their first two attempts were brilliantly saved by Croatian keeper Dominik Livakovic, while his teammates netted their opportunities. Takuma Asano finally got Japan on the board with the third attempt and Marko Livaja missed for the Croats, but the whole was too deep for the Asian side, especially when Livakovic made another diving stop with his outstretched right hand.

That left Mario Pasalic with a chance to send Croatia through, and he did it comfortably, hitting the side netting and sparking the celebrations.
