MORNING BRIEFING: Anyone who was at a Petersham pub late last month is being urged to urgently get tested as a COVID-19 cluster grows.

NSW health authorities say 44 people who went to a pub trivia night in Sydney's inner west, have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Police have released CCTV of two vehicles believed to have been used in the murder of gangland figure Bilal Hamze and the alleged attempted murder of his younger brother, Ibrahem Hamze. On August 14, Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop a Mercedes in North Sydney but it allegedly sped away. "We're particularly interested in anyone who may have seen these cars travelling around Sydney in May and June this year, or who was perhaps approached through social media or other means to store one of these cars on their property," he said.Packages seized when the AFP intercepted an alleged cocaine importation from the UK.

"Police have been working hard to analyse and explore all those additional leads, specifically targeting trusted insiders and those who present the most significant threat to our communities," said the state crime commander, Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith.
