MORNING BRIEFING: The dust storm is the result of severe thunderstorms in drought-stricken areas, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

A huge dust storm has swept through Dubbo, in the state's central west, with wind gusts of over 100 kilometres per hour. After sweeping through Dubbo on Sunday night, the storm continued towards Parkes before moving to the central ranges, affecting multiple communities."Drought conditions through the Central West Slopes and Plains have been very heightened … that again, coupled with some severe thunderstorms in the area yesterday afternoon, did see dust fly into the air as we saw those gust fronts occur from those storms.
The 40-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Fairfield and will appear at Bankstown Local Court today.
