MORNING BRIEFING: Kogarah MP Chris Minns will likely nominate for NSW Labor Leader after Michael Daley — who once had the top job — throws his hat in the ring. Meanwhile, a man is injured after being attacked with a meat cleaver.

The battlelines for the state's ALP leadership could become clearer today, with Kogarah MP Chris Minns likely to nominate for the top job.

It's understood Mr Minns would also nominate in the coming days, but Mr Daley said he's the man to unify the party. Dr Joy Townsend, CEO of Learning Consent, said the overhaul of sex education in schools had been a long time coming. Emergency services were called to Kildare Road in Doonside around 7:00pm and found a 42-year-old man with cuts to his head. He was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

Transport Minister Andrew Constance says no final decisions have been made about transport services in Sydney's south-east.David Babineau from the Rail, Tram and Bus Union said the proposal would result in job losses.
