By Bridget JuddGood afternoon, I'm Bridget Judd and I'll be taking you through the latest updates from the Reserve Bank, which is expected to make an interest rate announcement at aroundwho will walk us through what today's decision means for home owners and what we could expect heading into the new year.to the monthly payment on a $500,000 mortgage.$11,000 a year.
"The Reserve Bank board won't be able to ignore the sledgehammer impact of these rate rises," says the ABC's senior business correspondent"There's evidence that the consecutive hikes are working, consumer confidence is dipping [and] household budgets are getting tighter, but the recent Black Friday sales showed people are still spending now in the lead up to Christmas.
"So, expect Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe to repeat his line that the board will do what it takes to tame inflation."
