Live: Student's false positive coronavirus test shuts down Western Sydney school and forces students and staff to isolate
A Western Sydney school will re-open this morning after health authorities found a student who had initially tested positive to COVID-19 does not have the disease.
The student of Lidcombe Public School tested positive for coronavirus on the weekend, but infection has been ruled out following further testing. Staff and students who were considered close contacts are no longer required to isolate, as the school returns to face-to-face learning today. A notice on the school's website says NSW Health acknowledged the response may have adversely affected families and that it apologised for "any distress this may have caused".
