, and San Antonio remains under an excessive heat warning from the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 108 with heat indices closer to 112 in some areas. The warning is set to expire at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Despite the heat, there is a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms in the area before 10 a.m. and again after 4 p.m.

Today is a"peak energy demand" day for CPS Energy and residents are asked to continue everyday conservation measures especially between the hours of 2 and 10 p.m. This includes adjusting your thermostat to minimize A/C use and avoiding the use of large appliances when demand will be highest. 7/12: Dangerous heat continues today with an Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory in effect until 7 PM.
