McCarthy quest to become House speaker drags on a second day as GOP foes remain steadfast in another round of voting
Moments after walking onto the floor with Rep.-elect Victoria Spartz — who surprisingly voted present — Rep.-elect Tom Emmer , who was chosen as his caucus’s whip, showed he’s putting his whipping skills to the test.
He immediately walked up to Rep.-elect Lauren Boebert , a McCarthy opponent, in what appeared to be an animated discussion that included finger pointing. Then he quickly moved on to Rep.-elect Byron Donalds , who he continues to talk to as both sit on the floor together.
