A Livermore gun shop owner fatally shot a suspect armed with a hammer during an attempted robbery, police said.
The incident happened at East Bay Firearms, located at 4049 First Street, on Sunday around 2:30 p.m, according to the Livermore Police Department.
An off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot has been arrested and accused of attempted murder, among other charges, after allegedly trying to shut off the engines on a plane bound for San Francisco on Sunday. Authorities have identified the suspect as a 28-year-old man from Redwood City, but have not released his name.
