Jurgen Klopp gets Anfield to serenade new manager Arne Slot as Liverpool stars hold back tears in emotional scenes
The Dutchman joins from Feyenoord on what's understood to be a three-year contract. He will formally take up the role on June 1.Slot comes with pedigree having guided Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title in the 2022/23 season. However, this will be a huge step up for the 45-year-old as he takes the reins in what is one of the biggest jobs in football.
Klopp's first trophy saw Liverpool win the Champions League in the 2018/19 season before winning the club's first ever Premier League title the following campaign. But for any pressure Slot may be feeling ahead of his new job, his appointment appears to have got the blessing of Klopp. As well as guiding Feyenoord to the Dutch championship, Slot oversaw their KNVB Cup triumph in April, which saw them beat NEC Nijmegen in the final.
