Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson felt 'unwanted' after a conversation during the Reds summer plans
The 33-year-old ended his 12-year association with the Reds, this summer after completing a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq. His switch saw him reunite with iconic skipper, Steven Gerrard - who Henderson succeeded for the armband under Brendan Rodgers.
In one of his first interviews since the transfer, Henderson broke his silence over his motives behind the move to Ettifaq and admitted that he didn't feel "wanted", following discussions with the Liverpool manager, speaking to The Athletic. James Rooney added: "I think getting offered that amount of money as well, how much he was on with Liverpool, possibly changed his mind a little bit, then seeing new players come in, with the performance of Szoboszlai and people, there's no way he [was] going to get back into the team.
