Saskatoon's Ty Campbell — who has gained conditional status on the PGA Tour Canada circuit — hopes to take advantage in his home province.
He played four pro events on the Canadian circuit that year.
Back in Saskatchewan, Campbell has won both the Junior Lobstick and Men’s Lobstick in Waskesiu. He has also won the Saskatchewan Amateur in 2020 at the Legends Course in Warman and the Saskatoon City Amateur in 2021. “But I never much had much interest in it — it was all hockey,” admitted Campbell, who started to take golf more seriously as a teenager and gave pro golf more serious thought in college.Article content
“Making a cut goes a long way,” said Campbell. “It’d be nice to get inside the cut early in one of these first couple of events and try and secure a spot . I’m pretty happy with my status right now. I’m kind of right on the bubble but it’s close enough that I should get a few looks.”Even though the Elk Ridge Open is in his home province, Campbell has played the course more often just the last couple of years.“It’s tough,” he admits. “Some days, you dislike it more than you like it.
