One of Netball Australia’s harshest critics has finally infiltrated the governing body, with Liz Ellis joining the board 12 months after her application was knocked back. The 51-year-old has been desperate to help rejuvenate the sport but last year declared netball was “so poisoned” she wondered whether it could be repaired at all. So what changed?
Liz Ellis discusses Netball Australia’s lingering money problem. Kelly Ryan resigned as chief executive in December after a bitter pay war with the players while Ellis’s appointment to the board followed two changes earlier in April. “There’s a sense of renewal about the sport,” Ellis told Sunrise. “We come from an incredibly strong base.
