“The thing about this whole music festival, party, whatever you want to call it, it’s very, very, very Jersey City,” co-organizer Dan Haag said.
Val Emmich is among the performers in the return of the Jersey City Heights daylong festival "Lo-Fi Takes the Streets" from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 11. Jersey City Heights will be rocking again when “Lo Fi Takes the Streets,” a free all-day festival with live music and food takes over Ferry Street off Palisade Avenue on Saturday, June 11, from noon to 9 p.m..
“The thing about this whole music festival, party, whatever you want to call it, it’s very, very, very Jersey City,” he said. “We’re really happy about about the fact that the neighborhood has really embraced this thing. I was walking around yesterday hanging up posters -- I went to the coffee shop and the wine shop and other local businesses -- and everybody was not only eager to hang up the poster but really excited that we were doing this again.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Riverview Neighborhood Association and St. John’s food pantry, Haag added. For musician and novelist Val Emmich, “LoFi Takes the Streets” will mark a welcome return to live performances.
