Drivers in Melbourne may soon find it harder to find a car spot as councils float the idea of making the city more pedestrian-friendly and making delivery drivers pay for loading zones.

It is in a bid to encourage commuters to walk or use public transport in and out of the city.

If the plan is approved, Melbourne Council will look at introducing parking fees for loading zones and valet parking.
