An inner-city laneway decorated with greenery became the centre of a Sydney council dispute.
In the last four years, residents in Paddington worked to transform a drab laneway between Dudley and Underwood Streets in a guerilla-style gardening project to curb the dumping of rubbish.
Residents were told they had just three days to comply before council would take action and issue fines. The decision was celebrated in a Facebook post with one local sharing a handwritten note thanking the community for their support.Woollahra council has reneged on the enforcement.
