London cyclist killed in lorry crash in Kensington & Chelsea Fatal crash happened near West Kensington Underground Station cycling

A London cyclist has been killed in a collision involving a lorry in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea today.

The Tory-controlled council has been strongly criticised by cycling campaigners for its resistance to segregated cycling infrastructure within the borough. In late 2020, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the council did install a temporary cycle lane along Kensington Highway from the border with Hammersmith & Fulham to Kensington Gardens, but ripped it out just before Christmas that year after caving in to pressure from some local businesses and residents.
