Authorities say the suspect behind a terror-related incident in London had silver canisters around his chest while he carried out a rampage, injuring three people.

Investigators are gathering evidence from the crime scene - but confirmed it was an isolated incident and that the bomb vest was fake. Witnesses said the man - who has been identified as 20-year-old Sudesh Ammen - attacked people with a machete on a busy street, before he was shot dead by police.

Three people were taken to hospital - two suffered stab wounds and another was injured by shards of flying glass. One man remains in a stable condition in hospital, a woman remains under care and a second woman has been discharged. The suspect was released from prison just a week ago. Image: Getty
